Big Ideas is a fast growing startup based in Manila servicing clients based in the United States by helping them outsource their operations and other business processes to the Philippines.
Big Ideas is seeking a meticulous, commercially minded, and proactive remote Financial Analyst to support our US-based client, a growing company in the beauty and wellness industry. In this role, you will report directly to the FP&A Manager and serve as a core analytical resource responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial decision support. Supporting an omnichannel consumer brand footprint spanning direct-to-consumer (Shopify DTC), Amazon marketplace, and wholesale retail partner channels, you will transform transactional data into clear financial models, variance analyses, and strategic executive narratives.
Upon successful completion of the evaluation period, the contractor's performance will be reviewed, potentially leading to a contract renewal that may include a benefits package.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Weekly Cadence
Database Support: Operate the existing NetSuite and third party file loads into BigQuery. Extend them to new sources using the patterns already designed. Watch for schema changes and failed loads, and fix the cause rather than re-running. Design changes are specified by FP&A and reviewed before deployment.
2. Weekly and Monthly Cadence
Retailer door sales sync: Run the two-stage pipeline. Excel and VBA calculation engine on Dropbox feeding the Google Sheets values layer through Apps Script. Reconcile door counts and investigate breaks in the source file. Update monthly FC and maintain report backends.
3. Monthly and Quarterly Cadence
Budget versus actuals: Produce the pack across GL account, department and channel. Draft first-pass variance commentary. Maintain the transaction-type dispatch engine and the Description Aliases sheet as new posting patterns appear. Lock latest monthly & Quarterly FC.
Clinic KPI reporting: Produce reports. Maintain the Boulevard service category mapping.
Shipping profitability and 3PL billing: Run the shipping file checks and add new ones when a gap is found. Classify job tickets, flag duplicate orders and quantity convention errors, and keep the profitability model current across accounts.
Field team bonus calculator: Run the Field and Corporate pool calculations. Reconcile the output and confirm caps, gating and payout rates apply correctly before anything is released.
Sales team bonus calculator: Maintain and update the sales lead / customer mapping. Reconcile against the GRTs.
Profitability: Maintain, update and archive Brand Pricing schedules for SKUs
4. Ad Hoc and Continuous Cadence
International pricing calculator: Maintain VAT, Tariff and FX logic. Run new markets and new SKU scenarios. Check margin outcomes against the intended landed cost build.
Master data: Own the customer, vendor and employee master tables, channel and sub-channel tagging, and GL account groupings. Onboard new records ahead of each close rather than after a variance surfaces.
Internal reporting portal: Keep the resource directory (HUB) and its links current as reports move or are replaced.
Pricing: Maintain / update and archive Brand Pricing schedules for SKUs.
