Job summary

General Matter in Los Angeles is seeking a Financial Analyst to run the day-to-day finance operations that keep our engineers and operators moving: leading our accounts payable program, owning our procure-to-pay and spend platform, and building the reports that show leadership where the money is going and how it tracks against plan.

You will also help build the budgets, cost models, and long-range projections behind the company’s biggest decisions, and at times embed directly with engineering

Qualifications

• Evidence of exceptional ability demonstrated by projects or prior work.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to perform trade studies using first principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 0–3 years in finance, accounting, FP&A, or related analytical role.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounts payable day to day and ensure timely payments.
• Own procure-to-pay, card spend and expense platform, ensure visibility and compliance.
• Produce weekly spend reports and flag variances to leadership.
• Build department and company spend projections for budgets and forecasts.
• Support cost modeling for major programs and long-range planning.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations and embed with teams as needed.
