The Financial Analyst is a core member of the Finance team, responsible for driving the annual budgeting process, monthly/quarterly forecasting, and variance analysis for the business unit. This role delivers actionable financial insight to leadership through management reporting, trend analysis, and ad hoc financial modeling. In addition to core FP&A duties, this analyst supports pricing strategy initiatives — including bid/proposal pricing models and margin analysis — in partnership with Sales and Program Management.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead/support the annual operating plan (AOP) and budget process, partnering with department and functional leaders to build bottoms-up revenue, cost, and headcount plans.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts (rolling forecasts/estimates-at-completion), incorporating updated sales, cost, and operational assumptions.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. forecast vs. prior year), identifying key drivers and communicating findings to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain monthly management reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and executive presentations summarizing financial performance.
  • Analyze P&L performance by program/product line/business unit, including revenue, gross margin, opex, and contribution margin trends.
  • Support balance sheet and cash flow forecasting as needed (working capital, capex planning).
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate month-end close, including accruals, reclasses, and account analysis relevant to forecast accuracy.
  • Build and maintain financial models (headcount planning, cost center analysis, scenario/sensitivity modeling) to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in financial data and proactively flag issues to management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning/forecasting tools and processes (Power BI)
  • Support long-range strategic planning (LRP) modeling in coordination with corporate FP&A.
  • Assist in developing pricing models and margin analysis for new bids, proposals, and long-term agreements (LTAs).
  • Support Sales/Program Management with quote-level financial analysis to ensure pricing aligns with margin targets.
  • Conduct competitive/market pricing benchmarking as needed.
  • Provide financial input on contract pricing terms, escalation clauses, and aftermarket/spares pricing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA a plus).
  • 3–7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis roles; manufacturing/aerospace industry experience a plus.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills (required); experience with planning tools (Hyperion, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting methodologies, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems (MS Dyamics, Infor preferred).
  • Strong business partnering and communication skills; ability to present financial results to non-financial stakeholders and leadership.
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent deliverables (month-end, forecast cycles, AOP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to pricing/proposal analysis, ideally in aerospace/defense or contract manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with government contract cost/pricing concepts (FAR/DFARS) a plus, not required.
  • Experience supporting M&A financial due diligence or integration modeling.

Employment Eligibility Requirements:
