Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Financial Analyst Energy to join our Oak Ridge, TN team. The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, and detailed financial analysis to ensure efficient and profitable operations within the organization.

You will collaborate with finance, operations, and administrative teams, perform month-end responsibilities, and provide insights on overhead, costs, and variances to budgets and forecasts. A strong GAAP background and Deltek Costpoint experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance is required.
• 5 years of experience in financial analysis or related field.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform complex analyses and address complex transactions and business situations.
• Ability to collaborate with people on complex business issues.
• Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
• Previous general ledger accounting experience.
• Working GAAP, CAS, or FAR knowledge.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Works with finance, operational, and administrative organizations to ensure efficient and profitable operations using analytical tools and interpretation of operational metrics.
• Ensures budgets, forecasts, and financial results are presented in line with corporate policy.
• Prepares general ledger reconciliations and journal entries; owns primary month-end processes.
• Reviews and interprets complex financial data from leaders.
• Prepares detailed monthly analysis of overhead functions with meaningful cost/variance analysis.
• Establishes and maintains a tracking system for monthly analysis.
• Serves as liaison between accounting and operations.
• Works with business groups to develop budgets/forecasts and review actual performance.
• May prepare organizational budgets and forecasts.
• Provides analysis of organizational results of operations.
• May provide general business advice to operations counterparts.
• Evaluates financial statement components and revenue recognition criteria.
• Works on special projects and other duties as assigned.

Your role

• Works with finance, operational, and administrative organizations to ensure that the business is operating efficiently and profitably through the use of analytical tools and the interpretation of operational metrics.
• Ensures that budgets, forecasts, and financial results are presented in conformity with corporate direction and policy.
• Prepares general ledger reconciliations and journal entries; will own primary month-end processes.
• Reviews and interprets complex financial data received from financial and operations leaders.
• Prepares detailed monthly analysis of overhead functions that contain meaningful analysis of costs and variances to budgets/forecasts.
• Establishes and maintains a tracking system for efficient monthly analysis.

About you

• Bachelor's degree required in business, accounting or finance.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in financial analysis or a related field
• Working proficiency using Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform complex analyses and address complex transactions and business situations.
• Ability to collaborate with people on complex business issues.
• Working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
• Previous general ledger accounting experience.
• Working GAAP, CAS, or FAR knowledge.
• Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $65,000 - $109,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
