AtkinsRéalis in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a Financial Analyst Energy to join our office. You will work with finance, operations, and administration to ensure the business operates efficiently and profitably through analytical tools and interpretation of metrics.

Responsibilities include budgeting/forecasts, month-end close, GL reconciliations, and variance analysis. You will collaborate with leadership to review performance, provide strategic financial advice, and support special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business, accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial analysis or a related field.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting techniques, and accounting principles (GAAP/CAS/FAR).

Overview

We are seeking a Financial Analyst Energy to join our team in our Oak Ridge, TN office.

Your role

• Works with finance, operational, and administrative organizations to ensure that the business is operating efficiently and profitably through the use of analytical tools and the interpretation of operational metrics.
• Ensures that budgets, forecasts, and financial results are presented in conformity with corporate direction and policy.
• Prepares general ledger reconciliations and journal entries; will own primary month-end processes.
• Reviews and interprets complex financial data received from financial and operations leaders.
• Prepares detailed monthly analysis of overhead functions that contain meaningful analysis of costs and variances to budgets/forecasts.
• Establishes and maintains a tracking system for efficient monthly analysis.
• Serves as a liaison between accounting and operations.
• Works with business groups to develop budgets/forecasts and to review actual performance.
• May prepare organizational budgets and forecasts.
• Provides analysis of organizational results of operations.
• May provide general business advice to operations counterparts.
• Evaluates financial statement components of organization. Determines appropriate revenue recognition criteria.
• Works on special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

About You

• Bachelor's degree required in business, accounting or finance.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in financial analysis or a related field
• Working proficiency using Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform complex analyses and address complex transactions and business situations.
• Ability to collaborate with people on complex business issues.
• Working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
• Previous general ledger accounting experience.
• Working GAAP, CAS, or FAR knowledge.
• Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $65,000 - $109,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
