Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Preparing complex reports daily, weekly and monthly including sales, inventory, freight, raw material purchasing and operational performance.
• Performing financial analysis and communicating findings to enable management decisions.
• Promoting the relationship between accurate financial planning and overall results.
• Developing analytical tools to monitor forecasting accuracy and revise forecast processes.
• Analyzing pricing, volume, mix and FX impact on sales and gross margins.
• Leading month-end closing including accruals, journal entries and account analysis.
• Reviewing variance postings and month-end items, and reconciling accounts.
• Preparing monthly account reconciliations and working with external auditors.
• Providing audit support and data for testing.

Job description

You Will Do This By

• Preparing complex reports daily, weekly and monthly which may include but not be limited to sales, inventory, freight, raw material purchasing, and operational performance.
• Performing financial analysis and communicating findings to enable management to make informed business decisions and take action.
• Understands and internally promotes the relationship of accurate financial planning to our overall financial results
• Develops and uses analytical tools to monitor and lead improvements in forecasting accuracy. Analyzes actual to budget trends in financial statements and key company drivers and trends on a monthly basis, including the isolation of factors contributing to negative and positive trends, in order to revise forecast processes and improve forecast accuracy.
• Analyzes the impact of pricing, volume, mix and foreign currency on sales and gross margins.
• Performing and leading month-end closing of varying complexity which includes: calculating accrual/reserve balances and discussing calculations with management for subjective nature accounts to arrive at decision; analyzing general ledger account data for accuracy and adjusting accounts if necessary; booking various other journal entries and statistical key figures.
• Reviewing variance account posting for accuracy throughout the month and correcting system transactions.
• Reviewing detail of accounts and following-up on month-end closing items when necessary.
• Preparing account reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Working with external auditors quarterly and at year-end; including providing audit work papers as well as requested supporting documentation, walking auditors through calculations and providing data for various other detailed testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field OR equivalent education and experience
• Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
• Previous accounting/finance experience preferred
• Manufacturing industry & SAP experience preferred
• Analytical skills necessary to review/analyze accounting and financial data, substantiate financial statement balances and prepare financial statement account reconciliation
• Ability to identify, measure, evaluate & improve, if necessary, the effectiveness of accounting, financial, managerial and operational controls
• Good verbal & written communication & interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of people in a team environment
• Advanced computer skills including advanced knowledge of and experience working with spreadsheet software
• Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects with a strong attention to accuracy and detail
• Experience with AI tools a plus
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
