Aquatic is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Chicago Finance team. You will handle month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, investor reporting, and tax filings for management company, GP entities, and funds, with a focus on accurate books and insightful analysis.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Finance, fund administrator, auditors, and tax advisors, leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows while maintaining sound judgment and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced hedge fund

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Experience in finance or accounting for financial services or audit firms (1–3 years).
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, FP&A processes is a plus.
• Proficiency with AI tools to improve analysis and automate recurring work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close for the management companies.
• Build and maintain the management company's annual budget and rolling forecasts; prepare budget-to-actual analyses.
• Review fund administrator books and investor statements; assist with investor reporting for funds.
• Process invoices, credit cards, and expense reimbursements using Ramp.
• Assist in regulatory reporting, year-end audits, financial statements, K-1s and K-3s, 1099s, and tax filings.
• Use AI tools to streamline recurring workflows, analysis, and reporting; validate AI output.
• Help implement new tools across Finance; transition to an AI-native accounting platform.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations on ad hoc requests and projects.
