Diodes Incorporated in South Portland, ME is seeking a Financial Analyst to support FP&A, cost accounting, and manufacturing finance for a semiconductor fab. You will partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership to deliver insights that drive cost efficiency, budgeting, forecasting, and capital investment decisions.

This role reports to the Accounting Manager in a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a finance-related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and modeling capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Experience analyzing large datasets and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
• Experience with ERP/MES systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support financial planning, analysis, reporting, and decision-making for a semiconductor fab facility.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Facilities, and Operations leadership to drive cost efficiency and capacity optimization.
• Lead forecasting processes and provide insights into key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, yields, cycle times, and overhead to improve profitability.
• Prepare analyses and materials for quarterly earnings, executive, and investor communications.
• Monitor actuals vs budgets, investigate variances, and advise leaders accordingly.
• Evaluate strategic investments in equipment, capacity expansions, and process improvements.
• Create executive dashboards translating data into clear business insights.
• Support annual operating plan development and long-term planning with scenario modeling.
• Collaborate with accounting and SEC teams to align forecasts with financial statements.
• Utilize ERP/MES data for data-driven decision-making and process improvements.

Compensation

Pay range $70,000 to $95,000/year. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic considerations. Incentive compensation and benefits may also be available.

About the Role

The Financial Analyst supports the financial planning, analysis, reporting, and operational decision-making activities of a semiconductor fabrication facility. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Facilities, and Operations leadership to provide financial insights that drive cost efficiency, capacity optimization, productivity improvements, and capital investment decisions. The analyst will play a key role in monitoring fab performance, analyzing manufacturing costs, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and delivering actionable recommendations to improve business results. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and business leaders to analyze financial performance across wafer fabrication operations, assembly, test, and capital investment activities.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models supporting revenue forecasting, gross margin analysis, fab utilization, capital expenditures, and long-range planning.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting processes, providing insight into key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, including wafer costs, yields, cycle times, equipment utilization, labor, and overhead absorption to identify opportunities for improved profitability.
• Support quarterly earnings processes by preparing financial analyses, management reporting packages, and materials used in executive and investor communications.
• Monitor actual results against budgets and forecasts, investigate variances, and provide actionable recommendations to business leaders.
• Partner with operations teams to evaluate strategic investments in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, capacity expansions, technology nodes, and process improvement initiatives.
• Prepare executive-level dashboards and presentations that translate complex operational and financial data into clear business insights.
• Support annual operating plan development and long-term financial planning activities, including scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis.
• Collaborate with accounting and SEC reporting teams to ensure consistency between operating forecasts, financial statements, and management reporting.
• Utilize large datasets from ERP, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and business intelligence tools to perform data-driven analyses and improve decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve reporting automation, and enhance forecast accuracy through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic projects such as product profitability analysis, pricing evaluations, customer and market assessments, and merger, acquisition, or investment analyses as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and reporting requirements associated with operating in a publicly traded company environment.
• Limited accounting responsibilities may be assigned based on need

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Finance, or related finance roles; manufacturing industry preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
• Experience analyzing large datasets and translating findings into business recommendations
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Experience with Oracle preferred
• Experience in the semiconductor or relevant sector preferred
