We have an exciting opportunity within Diodes for a Facilities Technician/Plant Engineerat our South Portland, Maine wafer fabrication facility. This role is responsible for the uninterruptible operations of all mechanical and electrical systems associated with supporting a semiconductor manufacturing facility. This position will be the primary resource for covering scheduled time off requests for the 12-hour shift Plant Engineers, 7 AM -7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM, which may include weekends and holidays. When not performing shift coverage, there is some flexibility with this position’s schedule, and the job activities would include maintenance activities related to the Facilities equipment operations and continuous commissioning to optimize facility systems. Candidates must be flexible when requested to work outside of normal schedule to cover vacations and call outs.
South Portland
Pay range $24 to $39/hr. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic considerations. Incentive compensation and benefits may also be available. Night shift provides a 15% shift differential on top of the base pay.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for applicants who possess systemic knowledge of the following systems: low-pressure steam boilers, air compressors, low vacuum, chilled water plant, process and tempered cooling water packages, make-up and recirculation air handlers, wastewater neutralization system, acid / caustic wet fume scrubbers, volatile organic compound incinerator, emergency generators, fire alarm, and solvent and acid waste collection systems. Responsibilities will include monitoring, inspecting, starting/stopping equipment, and adjusting operations of the site’s Facilities systems.
