Job summary

Adient in Pulaski, TN seeks a Financial Analyst to support daily accounting, reconciliation, and financial analysis in a manufacturing environment.

The role collaborates with the Controller on GL accounting, month-end closing, internal controls (SOX), and cost analysis including BOM, inventory, and capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 3+ years in an Accounting or Finance role; automotive/manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Fluent in MS Office; expert in MS Excel. SAP and Hyperion experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Internal Controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex or ambiguous situations and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support and promote a safe work environment at the plant.
  • Assist the Controller with plant financial activities including GL accounting and reconciliations.
  • Support the month-end closing process including manual journal entries and cost allocations.
  • Maintain internal controls processes and documentation related to SOX; support audits.
  • Monitor receivables/payables activity and address issues as necessary.
  • Maintain fixed asset folders and track capital projects from CAR to CIP to Assets Register.
  • Track program launch expenses and report to Business Unit and Plant Management.
  • Support inventory controls including annual physical inventories and perpetual analysis.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Assist Controller with monthly outlook and annual/long-range planning.
  • Cost accounting functions: BOM review, cost roll-ups, inventory analysis, standard cost setting; coordinate with commercial team on pricing.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by Controller or Plant Manager.

Overview

Financial Analyst is a critical Finance position; responsible for daily accounting, reconciliation, and general financial analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Support and promote a safe work environment at the plant.
  • Assist the Controller with plant financial activities including GL accounting and reconciliations.
  • Support the month-end closing process including preparation of manual journal entries and ensuring appropriate cost allocations.
  • Maintain internal controls processes and documentation related to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Support internal and external audit activities.
  • Monitor receivables and payables activity and address issues as necessary.
  • Maintain fixed asset folders to track capital projects from CAR to CIP to Assets Register.
  • Track program launch expenses and report out to Business Unit and Plant Management.
  • Support inventory controls including annual physical inventory to ensure accurate inventory balances and perpetual analysis.
  • Support and promote Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Support Controller in preparation of monthly outlook requirements as well as annual and long-range plans.
  • Cost accounting functions: BOM review, cost roll-ups, inventory analysis. Annual standard material, labor, burden, overhead cost setting. Work with commercial team to ensure correct pricing.
  • Perform additional related duties and analyses as directed by the Controller or Plant Manager.
Education / Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3+ years working experience in an Accounting or Finance position, automotive/manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Fluent in MS Office applications; expert in MS Excel. Experience with SAP and Hyperion applications preferred.
  • Familiarity with Internal Controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex or ambiguous situations; ability to work under deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings by verbal or presentation format.
