Job summary

Conagra Brands is seeking a Financial Accountant to support the Corporate Controllers Group within the Financial Accounting Team, focusing on accruals and prepaids. You will help with reconciliations, journal entries, and key close activities to ensure timely financial reporting in line with GAAP.

You will contribute to internal and external statements, take on special projects including M&A and automation efforts, and assist with audit requests, while maintaining strong cross-team communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional accounting or finance experience.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel and SAP preferred.
  • Experience with balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Experience with automation tools or low-code platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations with strong supporting documentation.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including analysis, validations, journal entries, and reconciliations in accordance with GAAP and audit requirements.
  • Ensure all supporting documentation is complete, clear, and able to stand alone.
  • Support the preparation of internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with special projects including mergers and acquisitions, policy updates, business partner requests, process improvements, automation development, and system conversions.
  • Support internal and external audit requests and follow up on action items.
  • Complete requests from business and corporate partners in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identify and promptly communicate issues that may materially impact the company’s financial condition.
  • Manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
  • Adapt to changing priorities, responsibilities, and business needs.
  • Communicate clearly and frequently, adjusting the level of detail based on the audience.
  • Present information to small groups as needed.
  • Actively participate as a collaborative and engaged team member.

Job description

Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, you will support the Corporate Controllers Group as part of the Financial Accounting Team with a focus on accruals and prepaids. You will contribute to balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and key close activities while applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and partnering across the organization to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Compensation

Pay Range:$64,000-$95,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
