Job summary

Housing Works is seeking a Financial Analyst to support strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across healthcare services, grants, and programs. The role develops financial models, cash flows, and business cases to aid executive decision‑making and growth initiatives.

Reporting to the SVP of Finance, you will partner with operations and leadership to analyze profitability, optimize working capital, and prepare boards and leadership presentations.

Qualifications

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $120,000

Benefits:

Overview:

Reporting to the SVP of Finance, the Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and decision support across Housing Works and its affiliated entities. This role partners with operational and executive leadership to evaluate financial performance across healthcare services, government grants and contracts, retail operations, housing programs, social services, cannabis operations, and administrative departments. The Financial Analyst develops financial models, pro formas, valuations, cash flow forecasts, and business cases that support operational decision-making, strategic growth initiatives, acquisitions, and long-term financial sustainability. The ideal candidate combines strong quantitative skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long‑range financial plans.
  • Monitor organizational performance against budget and identify key revenue, expense, and operational variances.
  • Develop monthly financial reporting packages and dashboards for executive leadership.
  • Department Revenue & Spending Analysis
    • Perform detailed financial analysis of departmental revenues, expenses, staffing costs, productivity metrics, and program performance.
    • Partner with department leaders to identify revenue enhancement opportunities and cost containment strategies.
    • Analyze financial performance across
      • Healthcare and FQHC operations
      • Government grants and contracts o Retail and thrift store operations

      • Administrative and support departments
    • Evaluate program profitability, contribution margins, and cost allocation methodologies.
  • Develop complex financial models and multi-year forecasts.
  • Prepare pro forma financial statements for new programs, service expansions, capital projects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess financial risks and opportunities.
  • Support business planning and investment decisions through data-driven financial analysis.
  • Cash Flow & Liquidity Management
    • Prepare and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts.
    • Analyze working capital, accounts receivable trends, liquidity metrics, and financing needs.
    • Assist in treasury management activities, including investment analysis and debt management.
    • Monitor organizational cash position and provide recommendations to optimize liquidity.
  • Strategic Finance & Corporate Development
    • Build valuation models and financial analyses related to acquisitions, affiliations, partnerships, and corporate restructuring initiatives.
    • Support due diligence activities for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions.
    • Evaluate potential investments, growth opportunities, and business ventures.
    • Prepare financial presentations and recommendations for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Reimbursement & Revenue Analysis
    • Monitor reimbursement trends related to Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, commercial insurance, and other third-party payers.
    • Evaluate payer performance, reimbursement rates, and collections metrics.
    • Support revenue cycle optimization and reimbursement modeling initiatives.
  • Reporting & Executive Support
    • Prepare Board, Finance Committee, lender, and executive‑level presentations.
    • Translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
    • Support month‑end and year‑end financial analysis processes. Assist with audit requests, financial statement analysis, and regulatory reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
