About The Role
The Financial Analyst role supports core FP&A and financial reporting functions across a fast-scaling technology business, grounded in US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. The role owns forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting, and partners closely with accounting on close processes and SOX-controlled workflows.
The role matters because the business is scaling quickly, and leadership needs accurate, timely analysis to make decisions on spend, hiring, and growth. This is a hands‑on position with real ownership — not a reporting shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain driver-based financial models in Excel and Anaplan to support annual planning, quarterly reforecasts, and long-range plans
- Perform monthly variance analysis on revenue, OpEx, and margin versus budget, and present findings to finance leadership
- Partner with accounting managers on the monthly close, reviewing reconciliations and ensuring GAAP‑compliant treatment of revenue recognition and accruals
- Support SOX compliance by documenting key controls, testing procedures, and remediation plans across financial processes
- Prepare management reporting packages and board materials, including KPI dashboards in Looker or Tableau
- Analyze unit economics, cohort performance, and SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, CAC payback) to inform pricing and go‑to‑market decisions
- Support SEC reporting workflows, including drafting and tie‑out support for quarterly and annual filings
What We Are Looking For
- 3-6 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or public accounting (Big 4 or equivalent preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; CPA or CFA progress is a plus
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, and familiarity with SOX control frameworks
- Advanced Excel modeling skills; experience with Anaplan, Adaptive, or a comparable planning tool
- Comfort working with ERP data (NetSuite, Workday, or SAP) and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or Power BI)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financials to non‑finance stakeholders
- Bonus: experience at a venture‑backed or recently public technology company; exposure to SEC filing preparation; SQL proficiency
