Valeris is seeking a Financial Analyst in Morrisville, NC to support the financial performance of customer programs through data analysis, reporting, and reconciliations. You will collaborate with Finance, Client Services, and Operations to ensure accurate billing and insightful reporting.

The role emphasizes preparing reports on revenue and program performance, maintaining internal controls, and driving process improvements while supporting month-end close and reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 3+ years in financial analysis or similar finance role preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze large datasets and explain findings clearly.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and data analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and variances, and provide practical recommendations.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on revenue, receivables, cash activity, and program performance.
  • Perform billing review and account reconciliation; investigate discrepancies and support conclusions.
  • Support month-end close with reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and supporting schedules.

This role connects information across systems, investigates differences, and explains findings clearly to Finance and operational partners. The analyst helps ensure financial activity is accurate, well supported, and useful for business decisions.Key Responsibilities:Financial Analysis & ReportingAnalyze financial and operational data to identify trends, explain variances, and provide practical recommendations.Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on revenue, receivables, cash activity, and customer program performance.Develop clear analyses and reporting tools that help stakeholders understand results and make informed decisions.Billing & Account ReconciliationReview billing and related activity for accuracy and completeness; investigate discrepancies from source data through resolution.Reconcile balances and transactions across reports, customer records, and the general ledger, maintaining clear support for conclusions.Monitor open items and work with internal partners to resolve financial questions in a timely manner.Month-End & Financial ControlsSupport month-end close through account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and supporting schedules.Assist with revenue and deferred revenue analysis and reconciliations as needed.Maintain reliable documentation and follow established financial controls and approval processes.Collaboration & ImprovementPartner with Finance, Client Services, and Operations to understand business activity and its financial impact.Interpret relevant contract terms and business processes to support accurate billing and reporting.Identify ways to improve data quality, reporting, and the efficiency of financial processes.Qualifications:RequiredBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, financial operations, or a related finance role.Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work with large datasets, investigate differences, and explain findings.Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.Clear communication, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.PreferredExperience with billing, receivables, reconciliations, or month-end reporting.Experience with ERP systems, reporting tools, or process improvement.Familiarity with GAAP and revenue recognition principles.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.This job operates in a professional office environment.
