Job summary

HARMAN is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the America Professional Solutions Division with financial planning, analysis, and control for multiple business units. You will partner with Sales and Marketing to drive strategy, process improvements, and profitability.

Responsibilities include monthly variance analysis, ad‑hoc analyses across sales, pricing, inventory, and marketing spend, and leading BI training for commercial teams. Office‑based role in Northridge, CA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related finance and accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of financial statements, financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and data-driven decision making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Consolidate monthly P&L and Balance Sheet results for a business unit with annual revenues exceeding $300M.
  • Conduct monthly variance analyses comparing budgeted, forecasted, and actual performance.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses across sales, pricing, inventory, and marketing expenditures.
  • Provide strategic business and financial analysis for pricing, program evaluation, and distribution/sourcing initiatives.
  • Enhance planning, reporting, and analytics related to revenue and expense management.
  • Lead finance training for Sales and Marketing teams, including BI sessions.

About the Role

As a Financial Analyst, you will be providing financial support to the America Professional Solutions Division. Your focus will be on financial planning, analysis, and control for the business units. You will act as a key business partner with the Sales and Marketing teams to drive strategy, process improvements, change management initiatives, and margin performance. Supporting the growth of the business and ensuring strong profitability requires an understanding of the business, summarizing, and communicating the financials to allow management to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic finance partner to Sales and Marketing, supporting the development and monitoring of business plans, and consolidating monthly P&L and Balance Sheet results for a business unit with annual revenues exceeding $300M.
  • Conduct monthly variance analyses comparing budgeted, forecasted, and actual financial performance, identifying, interpreting, and documenting key variance drivers to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Conduct ad‑hoc financial analyses across key business areas, including sales performance, pricing strategy adjustments, inventory management, contribution margin trends, and selling and marketing expenditures, to support data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Provide strategic business and financial analysis to support management decision‑making across key areas including pricing strategies, program evaluation, distribution planning, and sourcing initiatives.
  • Enhance financial planning, reporting, and analytical processes related to revenue and expense management, driving greater efficiency, accuracy, and strategic insight.
  • Lead finance training/support initiatives for Sales and Marketing teams, including quarterly Business Intelligence (BI) sessions, to enhance financial acumen and data‑driven decision‑making across commercial functions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related finance and accounting experience in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of financial statements, financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and creative thinking, with the ability to use data, input, and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, including high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Eligibility
  • Be willing to travel up to 5%, domestically as needed.
  • Be willing and able to work in an office‑based location in Northridge, CA.

Pay

$84,750 – $124,300 (range, subject to factors such as skill set, experience, training, location, and business need). Additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commission may be available.
