Cenovus Energy is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Toledo refinery team. You will monitor operating expenses, utilities, and capex while performing variance analyses to identify drivers and support annual budgeting and strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, FP&A, or finance business partnering.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, reporting and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate results.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Support refinery-wide financial management activities including budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, cost management, accounting support, expenditure governance, and business planning.
  • Partner with multiple functional areas to improve financial visibility, strengthen decision-making, and drive business performance.
  • Develop, maintain and analyze operating budgets, forecasts and long-range plans.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts.
  • Internal stakeholders include Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Commercial, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Shared Services and Refinery Leadership Team.

What you’ll do:

Who you are:
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, FP&A, or finance business partnering.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, reporting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate results effectively.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
