Job summary

Cenovus Energy seeks a Financial Analyst for the Dublin, Ohio area to bridge commercial and accounting operations and to support decision-making through financial analysis and forecasting. The role ensures financial record integrity, regulatory reporting, and compliance in a dynamic trading environment.

Relocation to Dublin, OH area may be required. Responsibilities include month-end close, inventory accounting, NVM, P&L reconciliation, and collaboration with trading and finance teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting is required.
  • CPA or MBA is an asset.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting/financial analysis experience.
  • Finance experience in oil and gas marketing/trading is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial accounting and reporting for physical and financial commodity transactions.
  • Lead month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and intercompany processes.
  • Conduct inventory accounting, FIFO calculations, valuation and profitability analysis.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, KPI reporting, and government reporting.
  • Collaborate with front, middle, and back-office teams and support ETRM systems.
