Job summary

StaffSource seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to analyze complex financial and operational data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure accurate reporting across the mill. The role partners with operations leaders to improve performance and strengthen controls.

You will own month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, lead a small accounting team, and collaborate on capital projects to drive business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.
• 7-10 years of finance or accounting experience.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
• ERP experience, preferably SAP.

Responsibilities

• Month-End Close: Coordinate month-end close activities, maintain closing checklists, prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, analyze variances, and support timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure SOX and GAAP compliance; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting; support audits, tax schedules, and government reporting requirements.
• Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities including production, labor, energy, sales, and raw materials. Identify cost trends and financial risks.
• People Leadership: Lead and develop accountants and accounting clerks by setting goals, managing performance, prioritizing work, and fostering collaboration.
• Business Partnership: Support operational leaders with financial analysis, capital project justification, cost-saving initiatives, and maintenance of internal controls.

Job description

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex financial and operational data,

identifying cost reduction opportunities, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the mill. The

role partners with operational leaders to improve business performance, strengthen controls, and support strategic

decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close: Coordinate month-end close activities, maintain closing checklists, prepare journal entries,

perform reconciliations, analyze variances, and support timely and accurate financial reporting. (30%)

Compliance & Reporting: Ensure SOX and GAAP compliance; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting;

support audits, tax schedules, and government reporting requirements. (25%)

Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities including production, labor,

energy, sales, and raw materials. Identify cost trends and financial risks. (20%)

People Leadership: Lead and develop accountants and accounting clerks by setting goals, managing

performance, prioritizing work, and fostering collaboration. (15%)

Required Qualifications
