Job summary

Qualifications

  • Analytical, self-motivated with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and fixed assets reconciliation.
  • Prepare standard cost estimates for new and existing SKUs and provide NPI cost support.
  • Own and support inventory management, including obsolete inventory and YEI.
  • Daily reconciliation of scrap and reporting on labor, tools, and materials.
  • Manage petty cash and account reconciliations; process R&D/production expenses.
  • Support finance/operations projects and communicate results to influence decisions.

Job description

We are searching for a Financial Analyst to join our team based in Corona, CA. In this role, you will support month-end close, standard cost accounting, and inventory control while partnering closely with Operations. This is a hands-on, versatile role spanning cost accounting, inventory control, and financial reporting in support of manufacturing operations. You'll assist in communicating results to Operations partners and help influence decision-making by providing insight from a business perspective.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation and Fixed Assets reconciliation
  • Prepare standard cost estimates for new and existing SKUs and provide NPI cost estimating support
  • Own and support inventory management activities, including obsolete inventory tracking and disposition, Employee Sale inventory, physical/cycle counts, and Year-End Inventory (YEI) across multiple areas
  • Perform daily reconciliation of scrap with Operations and produce daily reporting on labor, Tools & Supplies, scrap, and other operational metrics
  • Own petty cash and checking account reconciliation
  • Process expense requests for R&D/NPI/production areas
  • Support special projects for Finance and Operations, and assist in communicating results to Operations partners to influence decision-making
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting, with 1–2 years of finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and standard cost accounting principles
  • Systems knowledge: SAP experience preferred (including Fixed Assets, inventory, BOM’s, and routings) along with strong Excel skills for analysis of large/detailed operational data sets
  • Experience with or aptitude for high-frequency reporting cycles (daily/weekly/monthly)
  • Physical inventory control experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills; self-motivated and a self-starter
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $70,000 to $75,000 per year.
