Job summary

Financial Aid Representative

WORK LOCATION: Macomb Campus

APPOINTMENT: As soon as possible

HOURLY WAGE: $16.19-$17.80 (Anticipated starting salary of $16.19)

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position serves as a representative of Western Illinois University Office of Financial Aid. At this level the employee will interface with University clients (students, parents, high school counselors, college and financial aid coordinators/managers) in order to maintain, promote, and monitor participation in student financial aid programs.

Eligible employees are required to participate in the State Universities Retirement System (SURS). SURS is the retirement administrator for employees in public higher education in the State of Illinois.

Job Requirements

1. Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:

  • College coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months); Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months); 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months); Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months).
  • Work experience performing office, business, or customer/relations activities.
  • Pre-graduation applicants are welcome to apply. In order to be considered for employment, the degree must be conferred at the time of application, unless applicant is in the final semester of a degree program; if so, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
  • For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body).*
