California State University, Monterey Bay is seeking a Financial Aid Outreach Counselor to independently perform a range of student services functions, advising applicants and families on financial aid options. The role includes outreach at events and collaboration with campus partners to promote enrollment goals, with duties extending to counseling via multiple channels.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a 4-year degree in behavioral sciences/public or business administration or related field.
• Two years of professional experience in a student services program area; master’s may substitute for one year of experience.
• Second language proficiency and experience with financial aid offices in four-year institutions are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate information from financial aid applicants to determine eligibility and explain the aid process.
• Represent the Office of Financial Aid at on- and off-campus events; deliver presentations and conduct outreach.
• Counsel prospective and current students via email, phone, and in-person appointments; support enrollment management goals.
