Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Counsel students with the financial aid application process.

  • Evaluate Satisfactory Academic Progress and prepare student notifications.
  • Assist with verification processes and document collection.
  • Process financial aid records and determine eligibility.
  • Assist with Special Circumstances determinations and childcare programs.
  • Administer Federal Work-Study and track funds with oversight from Director.
  • Prepare award notifications and coordinate state grants.

Job description

Perform a variety of technical and administrative support tasks in the maintenance and management of the financial aid process and for providing technical assistance and information to students, staff, and the public. Determine eligibility and award financial aid to students in accordance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines, policies, rules and regulations.

  • Counsel students with the financial aid application process and advise students regarding available programs and services
  • Assist with the maintenance of accurate and confidential financial records on students in compliance with federal, state, and institutional requirements.
  • Assist in the financial aid satisfactory academic progress policy evaluation and preparation of student notifications each semester.
  • Assist with the verification process which includes helping students and parents resolve outstanding issues and obtaining required information and documentation.
  • Assist with processing financial aid records and identifying missing items and eligibility.
  • Assist in final determinations regarding Special Circumstances.
  • Assist with administering the State childcare program.
  • Assist with administering the Federal Work-Study program; coordinate with departments regarding hiring and allocation of funds with periodic oversight from Director; track progression of work-study budget throughout the year and keep Director updated on remaining funds.
  • Assist in the completion and preparation of award notification.
  • Coordinate all State grants, including certifications, budgetary monitoring, and reconciliations with periodic oversight from Director.
  • Perform enrollment verifications for Financial Aid students.
  • Perform Identity/High School Completion Verification requirements for Department of Education.
  • Assist with registration, graduation and other College-related duties.
  • Participate in professional and staff development opportunities.
  • Actively participate in Student Affairs planning, evaluation, and program review.
  • Treat students and colleagues respectfully, speak to others courteously, and behave in such a way that creates a workplace environment that is marked by trustworthiness, honest but polite communication, and interpersonal interaction that are both personally cordial and professionally appropriate.
  • Serve on committees as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Salary Range

Salary Range Based on experience. Starting salary range $40,668- $61,002.

Physical Demands

ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information, analyze data, make assessments, and exercise good judgment to make decisions; possess ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus; and effective use of all forms of communication (oral, visual, auditory), including use of computers. Be able to lift weights up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
