Job summary

University of North Texas System in Fort Worth is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor to evaluate financial need and determine aid eligibility for undergraduate, graduate and professional students. You will administer federal work-study, Pell/SEOG, and state grants on the UNT Health Fort Worth campus.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and experience in financial aid operations, with strong communication skills and attention to regulatory detail.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process student financial aid requests from application to disbursement and determine eligibility for federal, state, and institutional aid.
  • Process scholarships, disseminate information, and coordinate scholarship opportunities and committees.
  • Certify work-study applications, reconcile payroll, and monitor work-study funds.
  • Provide courteous, accurate information to inquiries via email, phone or mail regarding FAFSA, loan counseling, and aid regulations.
  • Process student loans including import/export of loan files and manage institutional loan processes.
  • Coordinate financial aid presentations to students, staff and community groups.
  • Complete special requests or other duties as assigned.
