Job summary

Gurnick Academy Of Medical Arts Llc is seeking a Full-Time Financial Aid Advisor I for our San Jose campus. This FAA I interfaces with students to determine eligibility for financial aid, assists with applications, and counsels on debt implications and loan payback timelines.

Responsibilities include packaging awards, scheduling in tracking systems, and handling repackaging and R2TIV for withdrawals or LOA. Also explains payment requirements and secures payment plans before program start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred and related financial aid experience.
• 2 years of financial aid, collections, or lending experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and pay attention to detail.

Gurnick Academy is a leading California private healthcare college offering an extensive variety of Nursing, Allied healthcare, and Imaging programs.We are currently seeking a Full-Time Financial Aid Advisor I for our San Jose, CA Campus. This is a ground position working on the San Jose Campus.Hourly Pay Rate: $19.80-$29.15/hourBenefits:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insuranceShort-term and long-term disability coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Flexible Spending Accounts (Health, Dependent Care, Transit & Parking)Health Savings Account (HSA) with enrollment in a qualified medical planPaid time off401(k) retirement planBasic FunctionThe Financial Aid Advisor I [FAA I] is the primary interface for students to determine eligibility for financial aid, aid in the application process for financial aid, calculation of tuition amounts/adjustments, and counsel students on the implications of debt, and the cash flow and timing requirements of loan payback. The FAA I is also responsible for assisting students in applying for any other funding that may be available to them, including CAL Grant programs, program-specific assistance (such as nursing or ultrasound, etc.), scholarships and grants, VA, vocational rehabilitation programs, etc.The FAA I is also responsible for packaging student assistance awards, scheduling the awards correctly in the Gurnick tracking systems, and updating the information during repackaging, crossover award year reapplications, and at student exit interviews for withdrawing, LOA, or graduating students.
