Job summary

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor I for its Fresno Campus. This on-ground, full-time role supports students through aid eligibility, applications, and tuition planning.

The FAA I will package awards, run repackaging, and manage R2TIV and Tuition Adjustment calculations. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree (preferred) with 2 years in financial aid or relevant customer service; familiarity with CAL Grant, VA, scholarships, and student tracking systems is a

Responsibilities

• Interface with students to determine eligibility for financial aid and assist with applications.
• Calculate tuition amounts/adjustments and counsel students on debt implications and loan payback timing.
• Assist with funding applications including CAL Grant, scholarships, VA and other programs.
• Package and schedule student aid awards in tracking systems; update during repackaging and reapplications.
• Perform Tuition Adjustment Calculations and Return to Title IV (R2TIV) calculations for withdrawals/LOAs.
• Explain payment requirements on unfunded balances and secure a signed payment plan.
• Support exit interviews for withdrawing, LOA, or graduating students.

The FAA I is also responsible for assisting students in applying for any other funding that may be available to them, including CAL Grant programs, program-specific assistance (such as nursing or ultrasound, etc.), scholarships and grants, VA, vocational rehabilitation programs, etc.The FAA I is also responsible for packaging student assistance awards, scheduling the awards correctly in the Gurnick tracking systems, and updating the information during repackaging, crossover award year reapplications, and at student exit interviews for withdrawing, LOA, or graduating students.
