Perry Technical Institute in Yakima, WA is seeking a Financial Aid Specialist for a year-round, full-time administrative role in the Financial Aid Department, reporting to the Director of Financial Aid. You will inform prospective students about the financial aid process, assist with FAFSA/WASFA submissions, review applications, and help determine eligibility for federal and state funds.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a 4-day work week, with Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM–5:00

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate required from an accredited program.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
• Willing to drive a vehicle for Perry-related tasks with valid license and insurance.
• Must be able to read, speak and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Explain financial aid programs, eligibility requirements and funding options to prospective and current students and families.
• Greet visitors and assist students with FAFSA/WASFA applications and related documents.
• Review financial aid applications and determine eligibility for federal/state funds per regulations.
• Conduct financial planning sessions to review costs, offers and projected out-of-pocket expenses.
• Manage outreach efforts (calls, emails, texts) to assigned student ranges.
• Disburse funds and monitor balances; reconcile and report as required.
• Provide timely customer service via multiple channels and maintain student files.
