Qualifications

Role Description

The Financial Aid Advisor is a full-time, hybrid role based in Denver, CO, with a combination of on-campus and work-from-home responsibilities. The advisor provides guidance to current and prospective students and families on financial aid options, eligibility, and application processes, including federal, state, and institutional programs. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing financial aid applications, verifying documentation, determining aid eligibility, and packaging awards in compliance with Title IV and institutional policies. The role collaborates closely with enrollment management and other campus partners to support student retention and success, while delivering high-quality customer service through in-person meetings, phone calls, email, and virtual consultations. The advisor also helps maintain accurate records, assists with outreach events, and stays current on regulatory changes affecting student financial aid.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Student Financial Aid programs and Title IV regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply related policies.
  • Experience in Finance or related fields, including budgeting, basic accounting principles, and financial literacy concepts relevant to students.
  • Background in Enrollment Management or student services, supporting recruitment, retention, and successful progression to graduation.
  • Strong Customer Service skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly, respond to inquiries promptly, and support a diverse student population with empathy and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with student information systems and office software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as finance, education, business, or public administration) or equivalent combination of education and experience; prior experience in higher education or financial aid is preferred.
