  • 3+ years of experience in wealth management, portfolio analysis, investment research, trading, or related roles.
  • Working knowledge of investment products, portfolio construction, trading workflows, rebalancing, performance reporting, and risk concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare performance reports, allocation reviews, benchmark comparisons, performance attribution, and risk analyses.
  • Analyze portfolio data to support investment recommendations, portfolio construction, and model updates.
  • Monitor allocation drift, concentration exposure, cash balances, portfolio restrictions, and account exceptions.
  • Execute and review securities trades, portfolio rebalances, model changes, cash investments, and liquidations within guidelines and firm procedures.
  • Review trade orders, allocations, restrictions, available cash, tax considerations, and account-level exceptions; escalate when needed.
  • Monitor trade status, settlement, and post-trade activity; resolve any issues with portfolio management, operations, custodians, and partners.
  • Perform pre- and post-trade reviews, reconciliations, and quality-control checks for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support portfolio transitions, onboarding, and periodic rebalancing with proper records and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve trading workflows, controls, reporting, and automation while escalating risks.

The Portfolio Analyst supports portfolio managers and investment leadership through portfolio analysis, investment research, trade execution, rebalancing, risk monitoring, model maintenance, performance reporting, and data integrity management. The role applies established investment and trading procedures, exercises sound judgment within assigned authority, and escalates complex or higher‑risk matters as appropriate.

What You’ll Do:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Portfolio Analytics and Reporting
  • Prepare performance reports, allocation reviews, benchmark comparisons, performance attribution, and risk analyses.
  • Analyze portfolio data to support investment recommendations, portfolio construction, and model updates.
  • Monitor allocation drift, concentration exposure, cash balances, portfolio restrictions, and account exceptions.
Trading and Portfolio Implementation
  • Execute and review securities trades, portfolio rebalances, model changes, cash investments, and liquidation requests within established authority, investment guidelines, and firm procedures.
  • Review trade orders, allocations, restrictions, available cash, tax considerations, and account‑level exceptions before execution; elevate matters requiring additional approval.
  • Monitor trade status, settlement, and post‑trade activity; research and coordinate resolution of rejected trades, breaks, and other exceptions with portfolio management, operations, custodians, and other partners.
  • Perform pre‑trade and post‑trade reviews, trade reconciliations, and quality‑control checks to support accuracy, completeness, and adherence to applicable policies and procedures.
  • Support portfolio transitions, account onboarding, directed trading requests, and periodic rebalancing while maintaining appropriate records and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve trading workflows, controls, reporting, and automation while escalating operational or compliance risks.
Investment Research and Due Diligence
  • Conduct research on investment managers, mutual funds, ETFs, securities, and asset classes using established due diligence processes and approved resources.
  • Prepare research reports, recommendation memos, due diligence summaries, fund comparisons, and investment reviews for portfolio manager or investment committee review.
  • Monitor market developments, economic trends, manager activity, and investment risks; summarize findings and elevate notable developments.
  • Build and maintain financial models, screening tools, watchlists, research databases, and model portfolio documentation.
Data, Operational, and Committee Support
  • Maintain data integrity across portfolio management, trading, custodial, research, and reporting platforms.
  • Support portfolio accounting reviews, investment reporting, and preparation of investment committee materials and advisor‑facing presentations.
  • Maintain accurate and current research, trading, and portfolio documentation in approved systems.
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in wealth management, portfolio analysis, investment research, trading, investment operations, or financial services.
  • Working knowledge of investment products, portfolio construction, trading workflows, rebalancing, performance reporting, and risk concepts.
  • Strong analytical, research, writing, quantitative, Excel, reporting, and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to synthesize portfolio, market, and research information into clear findings and recommendations for review.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required; experience with trading, portfolio management, custodial, CRM, financial planning, or market‑data platforms preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Series 65, Series 7/66, or equivalent preferred; licensing requirements depend on the firm's licensing model and the activities assigned to the role.
  • CFA and/or CFP designation preferred.
  • Additional registrations, licenses, or approvals may be required based on assigned trading activities, state requirements, and firm policy.
