Job summary

Gallagher Benefit Services, a part of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., is seeking an experienced underwriting professional in employee benefits based in San Francisco. You will guide account teams and clients with data-driven recommendations, analyze reports, and support presentations and communications on underwriting policies and services.

Required: Bachelor's degree and 3 years in employee benefits underwriting. Strong Excel and MS Office skills, with attention to detail and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years within employee benefits field in an underwriting capacity.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
• Advanced Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data from carriers on clients and provide recommendations to account management teams or clients to negotiate rates and funding levels.
• Evaluate and present monthly, quarterly and annual reports that measure client financial status, track expenses by product line, renewal projections and funding levels.
• Evaluate, assign, monitor and peer review reports generated by underwriting team subordinates.
• Assist in the preparation of presentations, campaigns, communication materials, newsletters, etc. to internal staff and clients regarding underwriting policies and scope of services.
• Act as a resource regarding industry trends and technologies for account service, consulting, new sales, and additional sales to existing clients.
