Job summary

Transform Automations India Pvt LTD. seeks a Financial/Accounting Consultant to help define requirements for an AI-native bookkeeping platform for Indian CAs and MSMEs.

You will translate accounting knowledge into user stories and work closely with domain experts and engineers. Qualifications

• 5+ years as a business analyst, functional consultant or implementation consultant in accounting, fintech or ERP-finance.
• At least one full finance implementation: requirement gathering, configuration, migration, UAT and go-live. Tally, Zoho Books, Odoo, SAP B1 or Dynamics FI.
• Strong hands-on accounting: month-end and year-end close, ledgers, trial balance, GST, TDS.
• Requirement writing discipline: user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows; read an API contract.
• Active AI user: uses AI tools in daily work and can show impact.
• Clear communicator: explain accounting to non-accountants, seek confirmation, flag incomplete requirements.

Responsibilities

• Write user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows. Own requirement quality edge cases, error states, validation rules.
• Map accounting logic to system behaviour: voucher types, ledger groups, ITC treatment, reconciliation rules.
• Define how a CA reviews, corrects and approves AI output.
• Specify integration behavior with Tally, GST systems, banks and Account Aggregator.
• Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and UAT; design test scenarios from an accountant's view.
• Record assumptions, decisions, and open questions clearly.
• Use AI tools in your own work requirements, test cases, documentation, analysis and share what works with the team.
• Be available to developers and QA during the sprint for accounting and functional questions.

About the role

We are building an AI-native bookkeeping and compliance platform for Indian Chartered Accountants and MSMEs.

You will work closely with our domain expert and engineering team. You will turn accounting knowledge into requirements engineers can build and be the team's go-to person for functional questions during development. Later, as the product matures, you will support end users directly.

This is a product definition role, not a configuration or support role. We build with AI, and we expect you to work the same way.

What you will do

Build phase

1. Work with our domain expert to align on product scope, design decisions and accounting rules.
2. Write user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows. Own requirement quality edge cases, error states, validation rules.
3. Map accounting logic to system behaviour: voucher types, ledger groups, ITC treatment, reconciliation rules.
4. Define how a CA reviews, corrects and approves AI output.
5. Specify integration behavior with Tally, GST systems, banks and Account Aggregator.
6. Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and UAT. Design test scenarios from an accountant's view.
7. Record assumptions, decisions, and open questions clearly.
8. Use AI tools in your own work requirements, test cases, documentation, analysis and share what works with the team.

Single point of contact for functional queries

• Be available to developers and QA during the sprint for accounting and functional questions.
• Arrange clarifications via the domain expert when the answer is not certain.
• Maintain a functional knowledge base that stays current with the product.

Later phases

• Join CA firm discussions when needed, to validate requirements.
• Run end user training after launch.
• Support the team on functional issues. Mentor them on accounting logic.
• Build training material, user guides and functional troubleshooting notes.

What we need

1. 5+ years as a business analyst, functional consultant or implementation consultant in accounting, fintech or ERP-finance.
2. At least one full finance implementation requirement gathering, configuration, migration, UAT and go-live. Tally, Zoho Books, Odoo, SAP B1 or Dynamics FI.
3. Strong hands-on accounting month-end and year-end close, ledgers, trial balance, GST, TDS. You have done this, not read about it.
4. Requirement writing discipline user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, edge cases. Able to read an API contract and spot a missing field.
5. Active AI user you already use AI tools in daily work and can show how it changed your output. You follow what is happening in AI and separate useful from hype.
6. Clear communicator explain accounting to non-accountants, say "let me confirm" instead of guessing, and call out a requirement that is not ready.

Good to have

1. AI product understanding how LLMs behave, why output varies, where they fail, why confidence scores matter.
2. CA Inter / articleship completed, or B.Com / M.Com.
3. Indian compliance depth GSTR-2B reconciliation, bank reconciliation, e-invoicing.
4. Data handling comfort — Tally to cloud migration or two-way sync; SQL basics or able to read JSON.
5. User-facing experience — functional SPOC in a product team, or end user training and UAT facilitation.
