Job summary

6 Degrees Group is seeking a Financial Accountant for a hybrid role in Alpharetta, GA with an insurance client. You will sit on the Finance and Accounting team, keeping books accurate, closing each period on time, and producing financial statements relied on by management and auditors.

You will work with underwriting, premium accounting, claims, and carrier partners, leveraging solid GAAP fundamentals to improve reconciliations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of general ledger and close experience.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel and ERP experience (Dynamics, Sage Intacct, or NetSuite).

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and allocations, and reconcile balance sheet accounts for the monthly, quarterly, and annual close
• Produce monthly financial statements and variance analysis against budget and prior year, and support management and carrier profitability reporting
• Account for premium, agent and carrier commissions, and carrier remittances, including reconciling fiduciary premium trust accounts and carrier bordereaux
• Prepare schedules for external and carrier audits, maintain internal controls, and look for ways to automate reconciliations and reporting

Youll sit on the Finance and Accounting team, keeping the books accurate, closing each period on time, and producing the financial statements management and auditors rely on. Youll work closely with underwriting, premium accounting, claims, and carrier partners, so no two days look exactly the same. Its a great fit for someone with solid GAAP fundamentals who wants to dig into insurance accounting and help make reconciliations and reporting run smoother.
