Wabash Valley Power Alliance in Indianapolis, IN seeks an Accountant to support financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and member-focused mission. You will perform general ledger accounting, reconciliations, budgeting support, and prepare financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

You will collaborate with operations, engineering, power supply, and other departments to ensure accurate accounting in line with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
• Two or more years of professional accounting experience; equivalent combo of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, financial statements, and internal controls.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity and investigate unusual balances and variances.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements, management reports, board materials, and regulatory reporting.
• Support accounting for purchased power, transmission costs, and related settlements.
• Coordinate with departments to obtain complete and accurate accounting information.
• Maintain documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls; recommend improvements.
