Financial Accountant

Location: New York - Hybrid

Join Our Team

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing external and internal reports and assisting with investment accounting processes. You will report to the Financial Reporting Controller.

Your Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Global Finance team on group consolidation, including review of equity pick-ups, foreign exchange translation, and intercompany eliminations.
• Understand insurance and MGA accounting.
• Prepare supporting information and schedules for all SEC filings.
• Liaise with auditors regarding audits and SOX controls testing.
• Prepare balance sheet and income statement analytics.
• Assist with regulatory filings for various legal entities.
• Work with treasury and finance to analyze liquidity for legal entities and the group.
• Coordinate with technical accounting on underwriting intercompany transactions.
• Research and document new accounting standards and their implications.
• Prepare accounting memos and support ESG reporting initiatives.
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA).
• Experience with (re)insurance companies or public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
• Knowledge of SOX controls.
• Experience with US GAAP, SEC filings, and local reporting.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Adobe, Word.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented team player.
• Ability to meet deadlines, including overtime and weekends if necessary.
• Experience with systems like Workday and Workiva.

Salary

Estimated range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually. Actual salary will consider experience, location, and other factors.
