OVERVIEW:

Our client is a large, complex organization seeking a Finance Transformation Consultant to support a major SAP S/4HANA transformation within its finance organization. This engagement will support key finance systems and process workstreams, including requirements gathering, process documentation, testing, data migration, and implementation readiness.

The consultant will partner with finance, operations, technology, and business stakeholders to manage deliverables, coordinate cross-functional dependencies, resolve open items, and support implementation milestones. The ideal candidate brings hands-on SAP implementation experience, strong project coordination skills, and the ability to operate effectively within a complex, global organization.

Flexibility to support meetings across U.S. and international time zones is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in project meetings and maintain a consolidated tracker of open items, decisions, dependencies, and required deliverables.
• Support finance process and systems workstreams related to transaction processing, subledger accounting, and financial close.
• Maintain process documentation and maps, incorporate approved changes, and collaborate with business and technology teams to develop functional requirements and system design documentation.
• Drive best-practice methodology, tools, and deliverables, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Track and elevate cross-functional project issues, risks, and dependencies while coordinating with relevant stakeholders to drive resolution.
• Partner with business and project teams to support data cleansing, validation, and readiness activities throughout system conversion.
• Coordinate data readiness activities, including validation, issue resolution, and stakeholder sign-off ahead of system implementation.
• Support the development and documentation of future-state finance processes and related internal controls.
• Prepare clear, executive-ready presentations that communicate project progress, key decisions, risks, and next steps.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 8+ years of accounting or finance experience, including significant involvement in finance transformation, ERP implementation, or other large-scale finance projects.
• Strong understanding of core finance processes, including transaction processing, subledger accounting, and financial close.
• SAP experience required: SAP S/4HANA preferred; SAP ECC acceptable.
• Hands-on System Integration Testing (SIT) experience within an ERP implementation.
• Prior experience with ERP data migration, data cleansing, or system conversion activities.
• Experience developing process maps, functional requirements, system documentation, and internal controls documentation.
• Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex project updates into effective decks.
• Flexibility to support global working hours across U.S. and European time zones.
• Experience at a large, highly matrixed organization preferred.
• PMP, Agile, or similar project management certification preferred.
