Job summary

Accutemp Engineering, LLC in Stoneham, MA seeks an Assistant Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations and supervise a four-person team including AR, AP, and fleet staff. You will own month-end close and support the annual audit, partnering with the VP of Finance to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires GAAP knowledge, strong Excel and ERP experience, and a capability to deliver concise, actionable financial reporting to the Executive team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle AP, AR, and month-end close.
• 2+ years of experience supervising or leading accounting staff.
• Hands-on experience with balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and P&L variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience maintaining fixed asset, depreciation, and amortization schedules.
• Experience supporting payroll processing and payroll reconciliations.
• Experience with cloud-based ERP system and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Clear communicator with executives, vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience supporting annual external audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting staff including 2x AR Coordinators, 1 AP Coordinator, 1 Fleet Manager/AP Coordinator.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of purchasing, AP, AR, invoicing, collections, cash management, reconciliations, and payroll.
• Own month-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting to support business decisions and assist with annual audit documentation.
• Maintain fixed asset depreciation and amortization schedules.
