Job summary

DLA Piper’s Finance group is seeking exceptional law students to join the summer program in Chicago, Miami, New York, and San Diego. You may be considered for a 1L position (2027 summer) or a 2L position (2028 summer).

As a summer associate, you will engage in transactional matters, pro bono opportunities, and in-depth training to develop your legal skills. You’ll be assigned a team and can build your network through social events during the 10-week program.

Qualifications

• Interest in Finance and background in business or finance.
• Class of 2029 law students only.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
• Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in a timely, responsive manner.
• Provide timely, accurate, and high-quality work product.
• Meet deadlines, manage expectations, and perform work duties as required.
• Foster positive work relationships.
• Comply with all firm policies and procedures.
• Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, including computer work and virtual meetings.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned.
