Job summary

OCERS seeks a Finance Staff Analyst to support fiduciary, regulatory, and operational duties across investment accounting, retiree payroll, and financial reporting. The role emphasizes data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, transparency, and internal controls.

The position offers cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external auditors, including involvement in ACFR disclosures and system upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or closely related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting experience in government, public, or private sector.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, reconcile, and summarize complex financial data including cash, investments, and fees.
• Assist in annual external audit coordination with auditors, banks, and managers.
• Support retiree payroll processes, variance analysis, and coordination with third-party administrators.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
• Use AI-enabled tools to streamline journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and data validation.
• Develop standard procedures and workflows to support scalability and risk reduction.
