Reporting Structure

The Finance Specialist is a new position and will report to the Director of Finance.

Total Staff and Budget

29 staff members and an annual budget of $10M.

Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience and ranges between $45,000 to $52,000.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role ensures the day‑to‑day accounting operations run smoothly. Responsibilities include:

• Processing accounts payable and receivable.
• Day‑to‑day bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online.
• Supporting financial reporting and audits.
• Monthly reconciliations/Month‑end and year‑end close.
• Ensuring transactions are properly allocated to grants and programs.
• Assisting with grant billings.
• Credit card reconciliations.
• Expense reimbursement processing.
• Payroll support.
• Communicating with staff, vendors, and external partners.
• Managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Two to four years of experience and responsibility for reconciliations, reporting, grants, payroll support and accounting systems.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting standards.
• Experience with federal, state, and private grants management, compliance, and audit processes.
• High proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
• Highest standards of integrity, judgment, and confidentiality.
• Alignment to the mission, vision, and core values.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting, finance, business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
