Housing Management Specialist I

Duties include:
- Marketing rentals
- Processing rental applications
- Routes incoming/outgoing mail
- Collecting and processing rent payments
- Serving as point person for applicant and resident inquiries, written and oral communication
- Preparing correspondence and reports
- Annualizing income and asset values of housing participants
- Managing files; runs background checks on applicants/ residents; hands sensitive and personal documents; and updates information in the system
- Performing data entry
- Prepares related court documents; requests court checks.
- Scheduling meetings
- Responsible for a variety of technical office and administrative support to relieve Property Manager of operational details
- Courtesy and tact are required in daily contact with applicants, residents, outside human service agencies and other employees.
- Other duties as assigned
Special Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid NC driver’s license
- Drug testing, criminal background check and DMV check are also required
- Proficient with a variety of computer applications includingMicrosoft365(Word,Excel&Outlook). Proficiency with Excel is preferred.
Desirable Education & Training
- Graduation from high school or its equivalent supplemented by business administration courses withone(1)year of work experience in general office or public contact work, preferably in the housing or social service industry; or an equivalent combination of training or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform this job.
- Certification in affordable housing income asset calculations is required and must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
