Housing Assistance Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform general accounting functions, support payroll and benefits, and assist with audits and reporting.
Based in Hyannis, MA, the role emphasizes accurate ledger maintenance, journal entries, month-end close, and internal controls within a nonprofit finance environment. The position is salaried, with normal workweek expectations and potential for additional hours as needed.
Perform general accounting functions for Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) as assigned by the Controller. The Staff Accountant supports the Finance department and the organization as a whole through core accounting operations, payroll and benefits support, and special projects requiring sound accounting judgment and attention to detail.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
The functions of this role are conducted in an office and team environment.
This role is paid on a salaried basis.
Typically, full-time salaried employees work 35 hours during a Monday through Friday work week. However, this is a salaried position. Therefore, the individual is expected to work as required to complete the duties of the position. This may mean hours beyond 35 per week are required.
