Job summary

Pima County's Finance & Risk Management Department seeks a dynamic, motivated part-time intern to join their Internal Audit – Procedures and Training Division. You will assist in evaluating and documenting processes and internal controls for County Departments, and perform financial data analysis to ensure compliance with laws, contracts, and grant terms.

This in-office internship is located in Tucson, AZ and cannot be remote.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelors degree (or higher) in accounting or finance.
• Current junior or senior enrolled at an accredited college or university, or have graduated within the past 12 months.
• Cash handling, accounts payable, or accounts receivable experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating and documenting processes and internal controls for County Departments.
• Perform financial data analysis and examine compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, grant terms and bond requirements.
• Review internal controls for computer software used by County departments.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (pursuing/recently graduated)

Cash handling experience

Accounts payable/receivable experience
