Job summary

Pima County is seeking a dynamic part-time intern for the Finance & Risk Management Department in Tucson, AZ. The role supports the Internal Audit – Procedures and Training Division by evaluating processes and documenting controls under supervision.

Responsibilities include financial data analysis, compliance review with laws and contracts, and assessing software controls used by County departments. Visa sponsorship is not available for this in-office position.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting or finance.
• Experience with cash handling, accounts payable or accounts receivable desired.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data processing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating and documenting processes and internal controls.
• Perform financial data analysis and review compliance with laws, contracts and grant terms.
• Help review internal controls for software used by county departments.
• Work as part of an internal audit team under supervision.
