Job summary

Rio Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church is seeking a Financial Services Accounting & Project Coordinator to support accounting, reporting, and property administration for Conference operations across Central and South Texas.

The role combines financial tasks with project coordination to strengthen controls, efficiency, and accountability, serving churches, clergy, and ministry leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible accounting/finance experience.
• Strong organization, detail orientation, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Excel; comfortable with new systems.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting functions including reconciliations, disbursements, invoices, reimbursements, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
• Assist with apportionment calculations and Equitable Compensation Commission administration.
• Support financial and administrative management of Conference-owned church properties.
• Coordinate property documentation, leases, vendors, real estate activities, and related projects.
• Prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other professional materials.
• Help strengthen financial processes, internal controls, efficiency, and accountability.
