Job summary

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Business & Finance Specialist to manage finance-related operations for the Office of University Counsel in line with university policies and applicable laws. The role requires collaboration with campus departments and OUC staff to ensure compliant financial activities and timely settlements.

Responsibilities include managing transactions, budget administration, vendor management, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; two years of professional business/financial experience.
• Master’s degree can substitute for one year of experience.
• Knowledge of University policies and procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations for the Office of University Counsel, including P-Card and T-Card activities and travel-related transactions.
• Coordinate legal settlement payments and maintain tracking and reporting for settlements.
• Perform journal vouchers, reconciliations, and financial reporting for OUC operations.
• Serve as liaison with System Purchasing and vendors for non-legal services purchases and renewals.
• Facilitate assignment of matters to outside counsel and support process improvements.
• Support special projects and communicate changes to staff.
