Job summary

Ohio Office of Budget and Management (OBM) is seeking a Financial Program Manager in Columbus, OH to lead critical financial operations, oversee reconciliation programs, and develop policies that ensure fiscal integrity and compliance. The role supervises professional staff and partners with leadership on budgeting and funding requests.

The position emphasizes internal controls, accurate reporting, and continuous process improvements within a government finance setting.

Qualifications

• Accounting and Finance skills, business acumen, and staff supervision are required.
• Familiarity with financial statements and ERP systems is preferred.
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial operations including cash, payroll, AP/AR, and year-end close reconciliations.
• Develop and improve financial policies, procedures, and performance measures.
• Provide financial guidance to leadership on budgeting and funding requests.
• Supervise and develop staff, manage workload and performance.
• Oversee the Statewide Cost Allocation Plan and ensure timely deliverables.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and internal controls; comply with regulatory requirements.

Education

Undergraduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field

Graduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field
