Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission in Vernon, Texas seeks a Manager II Financial Officer to lead the non-regional accounting team and manage daily financial operations at the Vernon State Hospital facility.

You will oversee budgeting, reporting, and staff development, ensuring timely, accurate financial information for HSCS management while upholding HHSC policies and procedures. This is a day shift, exempt position with no telework.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years supervisory experience in financial operations.
• Experience with budget planning or development preferred.
• Experience with local, state, or federal financial operations of a public entity preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily financial operations of the HSCS non-regional accounting office.
• Set performance measures and supervise staff to meet targets.
• Develop and monitor budgetary performance reports for HSCS management.
• Coordinate with facility staff to provide financial information and support goals.
• Ensure compliance with HHSC policies and financial procedures.
