Nudge, a company advancing brain-interface technology, seeks a Finance Lead in San Francisco to own day-to-day finance operations, purchasing, and vendor management. • Strong understanding of purchasing workflows, vendor management, approvals, invoices, and spend controls.
• Hands-on experience with accounting operations, AP, reconciliations, close support, and financial documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfort working cross-functionally with technical, research, and operations teams.
• Good judgment around spend, prioritization, approvals, and when to escalate issues.
• Comfort switching between process-building and hands-on execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High integrity and strong professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day finance operations across purchasing, procurement, vendor management, accounting workflows, and spend processes.
• Manage the purchasing process, including purchase requests, approvals, vendor coordination, order tracking, and issue resolution.
• Partner with engineering, research, and operations teams to ensure critical equipment, materials, services, and supplies are purchased on time.
• Build and improve systems, tools, and controls that support purchasing, approvals, expense management, vendor onboarding, and financial operations generally.
• Maintain records across invoices, purchase orders, contracts, vendor information, budgets, and spend documentation.
• Help ensure spend is well-managed, properly approved, and visible to the right stakeholders.
• Identify bottlenecks in purchasing and finance workflows and implement practical improvements.
• Support tax, treasury, audits, insurance, and other finance-related processes as needed.

About the role

As finance lead at Nudge, you will:

• Own day-to-day finance operations across purchasing, procurement, vendor management, accounting workflows, and spend processes
