Job summary

MARI in Miami Gardens, FL seeks a proactive Finance Manager to partner with the Tennis Events Group across international events, including Rio Open, DC Open and Miami Open.

Job Description
About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Finance Manager to join MARI's Tennis Events Group. Based in Miami Gardens, Florida, this role will be a key finance partner across a portfolio of international tennis events, including the Rio Open, DC Open, São Paulo Open, the U.S. activities for the Chengdu and Hong Kong Opens, and approximately 50% support for the Miami Open.

Reporting to the Finance Director, Miami Gardens, you'll work closely with Event Directors, Operations teams and senior event leadership, providing clear and timely financial information to support effective business decision-making.

You'll take ownership of event financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, scenario analysis and reporting, while ensuring the Finance Director has a clear view of financial performance, risks and opportunities across the portfolio.

This is a full-time role based in Miami Gardens, FL, with standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. The role will occasionally require work outside standard hours or at weekends during events.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000. Salary is determined by market data, experience, location, and internal banding. Ranges will be discussed transparently during the interview process.

What Success Looks Like
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to Event Directors, Operations teams and senior leadership across the assigned tennis event portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date event budgets, revenue plans and forecasts, enabling reliable pre-and post-event financial reporting and timely close-out of event finances.
  • Deliver clear financial analysis, scenario planning and commentary that supports effective commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure financial risks and opportunities are identified, communicated and appropriately reflected in forecasts and planning.
  • Maintain accurate month-end P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting that reflects the latest view of each event's financial position.
What You'll Own
  • Act as the key finance contact for the Rio Open, DC Open, São Paulo Open, U.S. activities relating to the Chengdu and Hong Kong Opens, and approximately 50% of the Miami Open.
  • Partner with Event Directors and Operations teams to support event financial management and decision-making.
  • Work closely with the VP and/or Senior Director of each event to ensure leadership has clear, concise and timely financial information.
  • Represent Finance onsite at events as required.
  • Own and maintain detailed revenue planning and operational budgets, working closely with business teams to ensure information is accurate and reconcilable.
  • Support accurate pre- and post-event financial flashes and timely close-out of event finances.
  • Ensure applicable taxes are appropriately accounted for, working with MARI's internal Tax team to confirm treatment where required.
  • Own bottom-up detailed business planning and cash flow planning across assigned events.
  • Lead financial scenario analysis and identify and communicate risks and opportunities as necessary.
  • Where applicable, calculate, support and submit insurance claims within appropriate timeframes.
  • Ensure the Finance Director is kept fully informed of material financial developments, risks and issues.
  • Partner with the Finance Director to ensure month-end P&L and balance sheet reporting accurately reflects the current business position.
  • Prepare clear commentary explaining variances against plan.
  • Ensure weekly cash flow requests are accurate and complete.
  • Produce accurate weekly and ad hoc sales reports.
  • Ensure quarterly commission statements issued to the Sales team are accurate and complete.
  • What You Bring
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Strong accounting knowledge and financial management capability.
    • Strong IT skills, particularly across Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
    • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage and reconcile large data sets.
    • A process-oriented mindset with a strong focus on identifying efficiencies and improving ways of working.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced events environment.
    • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
    • Flexibility to work occasionally outside standard working hours or at weekends during events.
    • Previous experience within live events is desirable.
    • Experience using SAP accounting software is desirable.
