Job summary

Schwab Technology Services Finance invites a seasoned financial leader to oversee performance analysis for multi-billion technology investments. You will own Internally Developed Software capitalization processes, build robust financial models, and lead FP&A activities across complex portfolios.

Collaborate with senior leaders to improve cost transparency and drive strategic forecasting with GenAI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in finance or related field.
• 5 years of experience in finance.
• Deep understanding of internally developed software capitalization and governance.
• GenAI capabilities in cost management and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead internally developed software capitalization processes with portfolio leaders and controllers.
• Build and maintain financial models to inform investment decisions.
• Lead FP&A for large and complex technology portfolios; monthly close, variance analysis, forecasting and planning.
• Enhance reporting and promote Technology Business Management framework adoption.
• Partner across the organization to improve cost transparency and ownership views of Schwab's technology investments.
• Drive forecasting improvements and finance system enhancements, including GenAI integrations.
• Maintain sound risk management and controls around deliverables.
• Perform ad hoc analyses on tech trends and expense impacts.

Your opportunity

This position provides the right candidate with a unique opportunity to join the Schwab Technology Services Finance team. The team serves as a strategic business partner, providing financial insights, planning, and analysis to support decision-making and drive operational excellence. This role will lead performance analysis for key technology functions, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.

This role will lead Finance support for multi-billion technology investment portfolios, Internally Developed Software Capitalization processes and play a key role in the Technology Business Management Office (TBMO). This role provides direct financial oversight and decision support to these cross-functional processes.

What You Will Do

• Lead Internally Developed Software capitalization processes, partnering with portfolio leaders and controllers
• Build and maintain financial models to inform and influence decision making within investment portfolios
• Lead FP&A processes (monthly close, variance analysis, risk and opportunities, reporting, forecasting and annual planning) for significant and complex investment portfolios
• Enhance reporting solutions and champion adoption of Technology Business Management framework and Total Cost of Ownership data across STS FP&A team
• Partner with subject matter experts across the organization to improve cost transparency and total cost of ownership views of Schwab's technology investments
• Work cross-functionally to drive sustainable and efficient forecasting improvement efforts, including enhancements to financial systems leveraging GenAI capabilities
• Maintain sound risk management and control environment for work product
• Perform ad hoc analysis related to understanding business and technology trends and their expense impact

What you have

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
• 5 years of experience in Finance
• Deep understanding of internally developed software capitalization accounting and governance
• Systems thinker with proven experience modernizing cross-functional financial processes and champion of GenAI capabilities
• Proactive, self-starter, able to manage and deliver multiple projects and succeed in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment with minimal direction
• Ability to logically structure analytical problems and use critical reasoning skills to evaluate financial forecasts
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable partnering with senior leaders to drive business outcomes
• Financial planning and scenario modeling experience is important
