Our client, a highly-regarded private equity firm, is hiring a newly-created Finance Manager/Tax position for their growing team. This person will report to the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and its senior finance leader and will work across several areas: managing the firm’s tax filing obligations, supporting the businesses in investment portfolios, and picking up special finance initiatives on a project basis.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own the firm’s tax compliance calendar across a large group of affiliated legal entities, ensuring returns and extension requests are filed on time, payments are made correctly, and investor Schedule K-1s go out by their deadlines
- Work with outside tax preparers, portfolio company finance teams, and leadership in-house to keep filings, remittances, and investor records (such as addresses and tax-status details) current and accurate
- Act as a go-to resource when investors, leadership or colleagues have concerns about their tax documents
- Administer lines of credit extended to portfolio companies, including issuing monthly billing statements, verifying payments, matching them to the ledger, and working out payoff amounts
- Contribute to the preparation of periodic financial reports when needed
- Ad hoc finance projects as priorities shift
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; a CPA license is a plus
- 3-6 years in finance or tax, ideally in private equity, an investment fund, or a fund administrator
- Hands-on familiarity with partnership tax returns and K-1 preparation
- Flexibility to shift between tax compliance work and wider finance and reporting responsibilities
- A self-starter who can manage a heavy, recurring workload of overlapping tax deadlines without close supervision
- Emotional intelligence, initiative, a service mindset toward clients, and a collaborative approach
BENEFITS
- 100% company-paid benefits, commute reimbursement, bonus eligible and wellness perks; work-life balance and a fantastic culture with extremely low turnover
